2016 VOLUNTEER WORK PARTIES (3rd Sat each month, 12 Noon – 4 PM):  We will be having our last 2 Volunteer Work Parties of 2016:  Sat Sept 17 and Sat Oct 15.
For October:  To hopefully attract more community engagement, we will be raffling off 10 pumpkins that were pollinated and grown at The Bee Farm.  We will be giving numbers to those who come during 1:00 – 1:30 pm to volunteer.  Folks need to still be there at 4 PM when we pull numbers.  Winners get to chose their pumpkin in the order their number is drawn.  Pumpkins are good for eating and jack-o-lanterns.
SEPT 24 PORTOLA DISTRICT GARDEN TOUR:  The Bee Farm is on the Tour again this year.  Even if folks have not purchased tickets in order to tour other neighborhood gardens, The Bee Farm will be open to the public to take a self-guided tour.  We will have beekeepers and gardeners staffing the event in order to, hopefully, answer all questions.  We also will have our honey available for purchase that day.
2016 HOLIDAY HONEY SALES:  Our annual Holiday Honey Sales will be on Sun Dec 4 and Sat Dec 10 @ 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM.  This is our biggest fundraising event each year.
2017 NEW BEEKEEPING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM:  We will start our next 2-Year Apprenticeship Program in March 2017.  We will be sending out announcements of the schedule in late January and Applications will be due in February.
2017 VOLUNTEER WORK PARTIES:  Will resume our Volunteer Work Parties on Sat February 18, 2017 unless the weather is forecasted to be clear on Sat January 21 in which case we will begin on January 21.
In 2017, our goal is to finish planting-out our site with bee-pollinated people food plants.  All food grown is shared among volunteers who are there when harvested.
